A simple clinical audit investigating findings of Lower Abdominal Tranverse Incisional Hernias during routine laparoscopic procedures.

01
Complete an expression of interest form at the link below, or click ‘register’ at the top of the site. All you need is an email address and your site. You will then be sent an automatic email with the next steps.
02
Identify people at your site to participate in the study. You will need a lead consultant or attending and at least one other person at each site. Teams are up to 5 people in size per data collection period. You can have as many data collection periods as you like until the end of the study. Collect their email addresses and information to complete the site registration.
You will need team members to complete an ORCiD registration to get a unique number (ORCiD) so we can make sure everyone is registered as an author.

03
You cannot contribute to the LATITUDE study without approvals at your centre. You will need to gain audit, service evaluation or research approval depending on your country.
In the UK, you will also need Caldicott Guardian approval. Once these are in place and confirmed you can start contributing and your site will go live.
04
Your data needs to meet our high data quality standards. We use a variety of checks on this, including comparing the number of cases included compared with the number of expected laparoscopic operations. All consecutive cases should be included.
Once your data is checked and included, you and your team will be recognised as PubMed citable coauthors on any arising manuscripts. It often takes a while for these manuscripts to be published, but we will update you when this happens!
